Where is Elvaston and how do I get there?

Elvaston, Derby, Derbyshire, DE72 3EP Follow the brown tourist signs and AA signs and they will direct you.

The ONLY entrance available for the event is the main car park off entrance off Borrowash Road between Borrowash Village and Thulston. All other entrances will be closed, including for all guests arriving by bus and/or on foot. All taxi drop offs must also be at the main Car park off Borrowash road (no entry/access from disabled carpark/cricket club). This is because the Scare trail starts here – so you’ll miss all the fun if you start somewhere else!!

Some sat navs direct vehicles off the A6 Derby bypass into Elvaston Castle Country Park via a slip road to Bridlegate Lane, Alvaston (the cricket club entrance). This is closed throughout the Event and visitors will not be able to enter on foot or via vehicle this way.

Arriving BY BUS

There are buses direct to Borrowash from Derby or Nottingham, with a short walk towards main entrance for the castle main car park. Derby city centre bus station offers Skylink (on the Leicester route) which stops at Elvaston Castle external gates on the A6 - then a short (10 min) walk to Castle. Remember a torch for the walk from the bus stop!!
